Following on from this week’s earlier news, it gives me great pleasure to offer up some choice sounds courtesy of Steinski. Steve has kindly permitted a couple of his mixes to be co-hosted here at bosbos.net - Live From The Basement and Shop & Shop. I’ll let the man himself take to the virtual floor for this one:

“I produce these mixes because they’re a lot of fun for me to do, and also so people will know what sort of material I like to play out on club dates. Obviously, I love hiphop, and a lot of people know of me and my stuff from the SCRATCH documentary on turntablism, but I like playing a wide variety of dance music when I DJ, and I don’t want people to show up to see me under the impression that I play only old rap records.

‘Live From The Basement’ was, well, live in the basement. I wanted agents and promoters to get an idea of what I was offering and what I could do in real time. Shop & Shop is a studio mix showcasing different music I’m feeling, as well as me stretching out with some spoken word.“

What he forgot to mention is that they’re both HEAT! If you agree, you have wise taste. If you don’t, did momma drop you on your head one too many times as a child?
